As a tribute to my excellent father who passed away on September 30th, I offer this tea story. Although Daddy was a serious coffee drinker (he picked up the habit while in the Navy); he would participate in Afternoon Tea with my sister and me. It was always a hilarious occasion; for no matter the type or blend of tea, when using teabags Daddy would always take two in his cup.
His favorite herbal tea was Bigelow Perfect Peach; and I remember one morning while visiting me for the Thanksgiving holiday, instead of having his morning cup of joe, he promptly made himself a cup using two of these teabags. Each Perfect Peach teabag is good for at least two infusions so you can imagine how potent that cup of tea was! Since Daddy was so used to drinking very strong coffee, I guess he felt tea had to be enjoyed the same way. Needless to say, during a three-day visit, he brewed and steeped an entire 20 pack box!
This practice became a standing joke in our family and no matter which one of us Daddy visited as well as when we visited him, he would always insist on having tea with us using two teabags in each cup he drank.

Those are some nice tea memories. Sorry to hear about your father. Those who like strong tea are the good guys. That’s all I can say. –Teaternity
