Recently, I came across this wonderful homemade herbal tea shampoo recipe to cure dry and itchy scalp. It’s very easy to make and can be stored at room temperature for frequent use. The ingredients are inexpensive and easy to find consisting of chamomile tea, peppermint tea, olive oil based liquid Castile soap and jojoba oil.
- Chamomile soothes and sedates irritated skin.
- Peppermint revitalizes and invigorates scalp circulation.
- Olive Oil Based Castile Soap, made of olive oil (not animal fat) and glycerin, moisturizes the hair and scalp instead of the dry and brittle results one usually gets from chemically laden shampoos.
- Jojoba Oil acts as a conditioner making this shampoo a two-in-one product.
For a quiet tea spot experience that’s felt instead of consumed, try this recipe and make your own homemade herbal tea shampoo.

Thanks for the recipe! I love finding new ways to utilize tea – and this one might be great for my husband. Any idea about how long it can be stored?
If you keep the shampoo tightly sealed, it can be stored for up to three weeks. Depending on how often you shampoo, you may not get a chance to store it (smile)!
