Recently I received a selection of gourmet tea samples form Rishi Teas. Ever eager to taste and review unique and delicious tea, the four organic tea samples were a welcome taste for this tea enthusiast. The selection of teas included white, green, a botanical blend and iced tea blend. Since the teas are distinctive, I’ve decided to write separate reviews for each one; and being partial to peaches, Rishi Tea Organic Peach Blossom Loose Tea, a white tea, was selected as the first to review. Stay tuned for the remaining three tea reviews.
Rishi’s Organic Peach Blossom Tea
Rishi Tea Organic Peach Blossom Loose Tea is white tea infused with juicy peach, tangerine and aromatic blossoms. It contains organic jasmine and asthmanthus flowers, and natural peach, orange and tangerine flavors. Each time you open the re-sealable airtight package, a pungent and aromatic aroma is released.
When steeped, the color becomes translucent amber, a common color for brewed white teas. The tea leaves are large; so you’ll need to use paper filters for better brewing.
Use one tablespoon of loose tea per cup, and heat the water to 185 degrees F. Steep for 5 to 6 minutes and remove the tea filter before drinking. Steeping for more than 6 minutes will make the tea taste bitter.

Rishi Tea Organic Peach Blossom Loose Tea is good for two infusions and is a refreshing pick-me-up. Sugar enhances its flavor; but the tea is also great plain. Do not use lemon or flavored sweeteners and syrups, for they will destroy the taste.
