The day before Mother’s Day I attended a wonderful Afternoon Tea Party along with hundreds of other guests. After a great afternoon of delicious scones, lemon and raspberry curd, Devonshire cream, gourmet teas by Tea Forte, and an assortment of savories and desserts, I had the chance to purchase the lovely bone china teapot on my table.
Early Mother’s Day morning, I set up tea-for-one on a TV table in a sunny corner of my embroidery studio.
While a pot of Teavana’s White Earl Grey Tea was steeping in my new teapot, I re-warmed the last slice of leftover pepperoni pizza, placed it on an elegant china snack plate, and sat down to enjoy a moment of quiet reflection and total solitude!
That slice of pizza tasted like ambrosia and was every bit as good as the extensive fare I had enjoyed the previous day.
The tea-for-one was a fitting start to my Mother’s Day.
