My love for teaware and teapots in particular has resulted in an opportunity to test and review the Chantal Tokyo Teapot with Stainless Steel Infuser. Recently, the folks at Chantal Cookware Corp, based in Houston, TX asked if I would give one of their newest teapots a try. I’d always thought that Chantal manufactured only high quality cookware (I own a few pieces); but was pleasantly surprised to find that they specialize in teapots and teaware as well. In fact, during the month of October, you can trade in your old tea kettle and get 20% off a new Chantal one.
Chantal Tokyo Teapot with Stainless Steel Infuser
Rating:

The stainless steel infuser with this teapot is perfect for brewing most tea leaves. The only exceptions I have found are very fine loose teas such as rooibos or pulverized tea.
I love the sleek look of the Chantal Tokyo Teapot with its eco-friendly and non-porous pure glazed inner and outer surfaces. It holds 24 oz of brewed tea and comes in three colors: clear vanilla, mimosa yellow, and fiesta green. I received a clear vanilla one, which perfectly blends in with any décor.
There’s a thumbprint indentation on the handle that makes it easy to pour steeped tea and carry the teapot from countertop to table. The outside of the teapot remains cool for easy handling. Although it is microwave safe without the infuser, a tea enthusiast would not be caught dead using it that way. Rather, she would heat water in a proper tea kettle, pour it over tea leaves that have been placed in the stainless steel infuser, and let the tea steep for the proper amount of time.
Most of the teapots in my collection are specifically reserved for a particular tea; but since the Chantal Tokyo Teapot does not retain odors, it’s versatile enough to be used for any blend or kind of tea I choose.

| Made from the finest quality stoneware; excellent heat retention; dishwasher and microwave safe. | None really—I hope Chantal decides to make an even larger one. |
