Out of This World Coffee

coffee-in-space, NASA, astronauts, gourmet coffeeNot many of us get a chance to go into outer space and drink our morning cup of coffee. It’s an experience reserved for just an adventurous few.

One such valiant coffee adventurer is Dr. Donald Petit who lived aboard the International Space Station in 2002. He became famous for demonstrating how to drink coffee out of a cup instead of an aluminum heated bag with a straw–the usual way astronauts enjoy their morning cup of Joe.

This interesting video presented by The Source for Space History and Artifacts gives you a live description of what it’s like to drink anything in zero gravity…let alone coffee. But it seems Dr. Petit truly enjoyed the experience.
