One of my favorite bathing rituals is relaxing in scented warm water with fresh rose petals floating on top while listening to tranquil music and sipping iced southern sweet tea in a champagne glass. Many people take a bath as part of a daily cleansing ritual; but a tea enthusiast who enjoys bath time tea comfort loves to experience the solace and benefits a tea bath can offer.
Drinking tea is not the only way to enjoy it. A tea bath takes the experience to a whole new level!
There are many books about the joys of bathing. One of my favorites is THE SCENTED BATH: A GIFT OF LUXURY FROM NATURE’S GARDEN by Maribeth Riggs. Unfortunately this book is no longer in print, but you may be able to find a used copy
of it. This book contains 21 aromatic bathing recipes that use herbs, spices and yes…you guessed it, TEA!
In addition to the book, consider these ingredients for your tea bath or make your own for ultimate bathing pleasure. Tea Soaps
Many soap manufacturers use crushed tea leaves and herbs to make fragrant naturally therapeutic soaps. Because the skin absorbs nutrients, it is able to soak up the energy-producing benefits of green tea as well as the mind and body renewing benefits provided by other tea blend soaps. Tea Bath Bags
If you want to feel as if you are luxuriating in a bath tub in the midst of a forest or field of wild flowers; then a tea bath bag is just what you need. Hang the tea bath bag from the faucet or let it float in the warm water as you soak. Squeeze it ever so often to release the tea’s healing properties and use it as a wash cloth to allow even more of the tea’s nutrients to be absorbed by your skin.
Tea Finishers After relaxing in the bath for 15 or 20 minutes, finish your bath by using a fluffy towel to dry off, and applying tea scented body lotions to re-hydrate the skin. Wrap your body is a terry cloth robe, put your feet up and take a five minute snooze. Now, you’re ready for the rest of your day!
