Drink Ginger Tea to Get Rid of the Common Cold

ginger, dry ginger, ginger tea, gingerroot, herbalist, home remedy, honey, hot tea, lemon juice, natural energy, spring water, tea remedyRecently I caught a cold from my two-year old granddaughter who sneezed my way a couple of times and added a cough or two for good measure. I immediately grabbed the lemon juice for Vitamin C, but it didn’t help much. So, I took cold medicines to relieve the sore throat, stuffy nose and congestion. The cold worsened and just before I was ready to give-in and go to the doctor’s office, my sister, a budding herbalist, mentioned that I should prepare and drink fresh ginger tea.

So, I took her advice, pulled out an old recipe for ginger tea and began a regimen of ginger tea instead of cough medicine and throat lozenges. It worked! I feel a whole lot better, and the tea is delicious. I’ve decided to make it a staple drink to enjoy each day. By the way, my research into the use of ginger as a home remedy for the common cold uncovered that it is also great for indigestion, boosts the immune system, and produces natural energy (no more artificial energy soft drinks with loads of caffeine and sugar and nasty side-effects).

Try this recipe for making fresh ginger tea using gingerroot instead of powdered dry ginger. Enjoy a glass or a cup or two. Not only will it taste good; but it will calm and relax you (no jitters or nervous energy).
