Produced in China’s Dongting East and West Hills, Dongting Biluochun Tea (Don’t ask me to pronounce the name) is one of the ten most famous Chinese green teas. It features ample buds, tender fragrance, clear soup, and mellow taste. Dongting Biluochun Tea
has a history of more than a thousand years. Originally it was called Dongting Tea or Scaring Tea because of a legend.
It is said that a nun was once on her spring outing in the hill. She picked several of these tea leaves pan dried them and soaked them with boiled water. The striking fragrance made her blurt out, “Alas, what a scaring fragrance”. Hence the name, scaring tea. Later, Emperor Kang Xi visited Taihu Lake on an inspection in the south. The governor of Jiangsu served the emperor Scaring Tea. Kang Xi highly appreciated it, but thought the name was not elegant enough. Since the tea was produced in Biluo Peak in Dongting East Hill, he called it Biluochun.

I just want to say that I’m not afraid of this tea. And neither should you be for any reason, like that it’s loose leaf. All that takes is a few accessories and a little attention. Once you make the switch you’ll never want to go back to tea bags. –Teaternity
