A study by The American Journal of Epidemiology showed that Coca Tea is useful in treating gastrointestinal ailments, as well as motion and altitude sickness. They found it to be a fast acting antidepressant and helpful in combating hypoglycemia and diabetes. Coca leaves deliver healthy doses of vitamins A, C, B and E, phosphorous, iron, potassium, magnesium, calcium and protein.

Coca tea comes from Peru and is commonly called mate de coca. It is an herbal tea that’s made by brewing the leaves of the coca plant. Unlike most herbal teas, it has a stimulating effect similar to coffee. There’s no caffeine in Coca Tea; but there is a infinitesimal amount of cocaine (they both come from the same plant).

  1. Marlena says:

You do know this is the plant from which cocaine is made?

  2. Yes, my research indicates that although this tea is made from the same plant as cocaine, infinitesimal amounts of the drug are present when the leaves are manufactured and prepared for tea. Coca tea has been approved by the FDA and is thus available for sale in the US. The Tea Enthusiast
