Bubble Tea – A Cuppa or Dessert?

Bubble Tea is both a cuppa AND a dessert! Yes, there’s a new craze going around called “Bubble Tea” that’s gaining in popularity as many tea enthusiasts sip AND eat this delicious tea drink and dessert. Why is Bubble Tea so interesting and popular? Because it is a creamy, tasty and refreshing combination of tea (the beverage) and pudding (the dessert).

bubble-teaBubble tea is quite versatile in that it can be served hot or cold; it comes in a variety of flavors including green tea and is sipped through a special straw that has been widened to capture the little tapioca pearls at the bottom of the drink. You can find Bubble Tea in most of your favorite flavors like peach, mango, passion fruit, and even chocolate milk (ugh, I’m having a paradigm problem with tea and chocolate milk)!

A tea enthusiast who enjoys Bubble Tea can purchase kits or party packs to enjoy at home. It’s easy to make and the directions are easy to follow as well. The kits include everything you need: tapioca pearls, powdered drink mix, cups, straws and even a sturdy shaker to use to mix all the ingredients.

If you want to serve a different kind of dessert for your next dinner part, consider Bubble Tea for a unique after dinner treat.

Thanks for the post! I discovered and tried bubble tea for the first time recently, and this particular restaurant also had an option to add fruity “jellies” instead of the tapioca balls – they were kind of like jello blocks. As for my first taste…probably my last. :-)
