A Quiet Tea Spot

rose tea set, teapot, teacups, porcelain tea cups

Tea is my beverage of choice! I remember my grandmother giving me “milk tea” to drink as a child. This hot sweetened milk and water beverage was specially prepared for quiet times when there were only the two of us. We would sit close to each other in silence sipping our tea (she drank the real stuff). Most times all you would hear would be slurps and sighs of comfort, satisfaction and delight in our quiet tea spot. To this day, I carry and cherish this memory in my heart as I prepare and drink tea.

During the teen and college years, my enthusiasm and interest in drinking tea was temporarily put on hold; but, after marriage and a family of my own, the desire re-appeared and I not only began to enjoy the sheer pleasure of having a cup of tea again, but also the traditions and rituals that go along with it.

Over the years I have collected an assortment of teapots, cups and various tea implements, which I use in giving and hosting tea parties, tea clubs, afternoon tea and any other excuse to create a quiet tea spot for others.

I invite you to create a quiet tea spot of your own. I hope that the tea tips, gadgets and trivia on this site will inspire you to break away, relax and enjoy your favorite brew or blend of tea as you refresh from the frantic pace and busyness of life.

To get started, stop right now and put the tea kettle on!
