5 Ways to Use an Electric Thermo Pot

Panasonic Electric Thermo Pot, electric hot pot, electric hot water dispenser, electric thermo pot, ramen noodles, tea, Tea for One, Tea PartiesI first learned about the electric thermo pot from one of my Chinese clients, who used it to prepare all kinds of hot drinks.

When I could visit her for our personal growth coaching sessions, the first thing she would do is offer me a cup of specially blended hot tea. During the session, I would frequently get up when my cup was empty, make my way to her kitchen and use the thermo pot to make more tea.

After a few visits, I was hooked and started looking for an electric thermo pot of my own. Over the years, I have found many ways to use the electric thermo pot. Here are five.

Preparing Tea

Another name for the electric hot pot is electric thermo pot. What makes it such is its ability to not only boil water automatically, but to keep it warm for hours.

This is perfect for preparing tea. It even takes tap water and de-chlorinates in the boiling cycle for perfect flavorful tea without the taste of chlorine or other chemicals found in ordinary drinking water.

Serving instant hot drinks

I’ve made everything from instant apple cider, hot chocolate and French press coffee using the electric thermo pot. Instead of waiting for the water to boil, I can have great tasting beverages at a moment’s notice!

Making Baby Formula

When my granddaughter was born, I brought my electric thermo pot with me when I came to spend the first three weeks with my daughter and her new baby. Although she was breast feeding, the pediatrician felt it would be great to augment the feedings with a little formula. I just hooked up the hot pot and used it to mix the powdered formula, and later the baby cereal my grand baby craved.

Serving Soup

I’m especially fond of Ramen Noodles, and you guessed it, I use the hot pot to make a bowl instead of going through the tedious process of boiling water, etc. If you want a cup of bouillon or would like to mix your favorite instant soup in a cup; the electric thermo pot is an absolutely necessity.

Making instant Foods

Quite often my work butts up against the time I would like to use to prepare dinner; so I’ve relegated the fancy homemade stuff to weekends or for special occasions. During the week, I can use the electric thermo pot to prepare instant mashed potatoes, instant grits…almost everything instant that requires boiling water. And the best part of it all is that it tastes good too.

If you want to make life just a little easier, and like instant touch-of-a-button appliances, then the electric thermo pot is definitely for you. If you already own an electric thermo pot, tell me what you think about it and any additional ways you’ve used it!

I like to use my “hot pot” for the reasons you mentioned above. It’s one of my favorite gifts to give new moms who are feeding their baby formula.

You can also use it to start soups, add hot water to something that needs just a bit, make coffee in a press pot- my husband’s favorite. I love having it.
